I just wanted to introduce myself. I live in the State of Pennsylvania, new to the forum and new to M & P's. I have to admit, it took me a while to look at the M&P. I was a devoted Glock fan for the last ten years. Things changed when I shot a friends M & P 40 at the range. I liked it so much I left the range and purchased one for myself. After cleaning and applying the lube per factory specs, I took it to the range and put 300 rounds through it without a malfunction. This has to be the most comfortable polymer framed handgun I ever shot. Needless to say I think I'm going to pick up the 40c as well, Frank.

Welcome to our M&P world, Frank. As you peruse the previously posted threads, I think you'll find, as I have, that this forum has some of the most knowledgeable shooters/owners of M&P pistols around. BTW, I have a 40c that I use for my full time CCW and home defense. To be perfectly honest, the 40c is on the bulky side for a CCW as compared to other "true" compact pistols. However, as I mentioned to another poster, who was looking for a "comfortable" gun, my comfort level in my 40c is measured by being relatively confident that when I pull the trigger it will go "bang", and it will stop whatever threat I'm shooting at, assuming I've done my job of putting "them" where and when they need to go. - MCG

Glad to hear. I bought an M&P 9c almost 3 wks ago and haven't been to the range with it yet. That will be rectified by Saturday at noon if I have to shoot my way there because it's driving me crazy to have not shot it yet. I will admit that I trust S&W so much that I have been carrying it without having shot it. While I live in a dangerous city and own a Ruger and another Smith (cs9), I trust the M&P more than the Ruger that I have shot. The M&P is more comfortable to carry, better fit hand and carry, higher mag cap and easy to break and clean. I put the hi cap mag in my ruger and left it for nightstand. I'll bring both Saturday morning and we'll know if my expectations are correct.
