Hi Folks, I'm a new member and I would very much like to know all I can about a recently acquired Mod 66 No-Dash, especially year of manufacture and any opinions as to its value. Serial # is 4K17xxx. Thanks for all your time and patience. TJ

Welcome to the forum. You will learn a ton of useful information here. Congratulations on your Md 66, a real icon in the world of S&W revolvers. I've never had a Md 66 but I do know that many like the stainless steel sights that yours has. According the SCSW your gun dates to around 1973. There will be others along soon to tell you more about your Md 66.

Welcome to the S&W Forum, TwoGunTJ. I don't have my SCS&W close by so can't give you an exact date, but that is an early one with the all stainless sights. It looks like the ex-LEO guns that were abundant in the '80s and '90s but are rapidly climbing in value and demand today. If the inside of the right grip has the same serial number as the rest of the gun stamped in, even with the wear and tear, those grips add a little to the value. I'm going to guess that if that gun showed up here in Central VA, and if I am judging the finish condition correctly, the asking price would probably be at a minimum $550-600 and maybe quite a bit more from most dealers. Local markets vary considerably though, so don't take my guess-timate as being carved in stone.

Welcome to the forum. I've got a 66 no dash with a 2.5 inch barrel that I love. Enjoy yours!
