New member with question

New member with question here. I’m Ryan Spence and Spence gunsmithing in Dayton Ohio we have been into an awful lot of Smith and Wesson revolvers but see a feature on this one I have not seen before thought someone may know what this is

That slot if for the trigger stop that used to be on many K frame target guns but S&W stopped milling out the slot and advised all owners to remove the stop because it could loosen and slide forward preventing the trigger to be fired.
