I signed on 2 days ago seeking information on a part for a 32 Hand Ejector. I was glad to get a response and signed on a few times since then thinking to post a New Member thread.
Unfortunately, I became so involved in searching this forum that I tired out before I could post my appreciation for being allowed to ask my questions.
I have owned and shot many Smiths (as well as other firearms) in my 60+ years but have ben away from guns in general for quite a while. I am just lately thinking, albeit with some remorse, about obtaining a firearm and a CCW. (It is sad to think one might need such but even sadder to think what might happen if one didn't have one. I guess maybe it is even more diffcult to accept that we have declined as a society to where honest people are nearly forced to make such a decision.)
In roaming thru this forum, it was like dreaming backwards into a better time. The pictures especially induce memories of guns I once owned and with their recognition comes the times of a life that are sorely missed in our modern era.
I doubt I can contribute much to this forum as I have been so long out of the 'loop' re: firearms, but it is a great opportunity for me to be able to look at the many firearms many of you own and to remember how the 'wrapping' paper in a new M 27 or 29 smelled when the box was open, or how the old royal blue seemed to fit the shape of the revolver that begged as much not to be shot and is begged to be shot.
I will probably continue to look thru this forum on and off for, if nothing else. the information that is available in all aspects of firearm ownership and the ongoing threats to same.
I may well ask for advice on a revolver if I decide to sell it but I want to express my respect for the forum and let it be known that I feel a little inconsequential for not being able to contribute in a way I feel would be educational.
Again, thanks to everyone for allowing me entrance and accept my wishes for safe and enduring firearm ownhership.
