Hi Folks, Names Mike from Ireland. I bought a 629 - 5 last year and so far have put about a thousand rounds through it. I bought the first 400 factory rounds and have reloaded since. I was using Vitavourhi N320 but have recently swapped to HP38 giving each case a 7.2 grain injection. Works really well. When I changed to the HP38 the leaflet stated max. 5.4 grains (44 special) but to reduce by 10% for the first loads. I did so and found 240 grain heads not able to penetrate the butts plastic cover in our range at 25 meters! I've since upped the load to 7.2 grains / 240 grain head and find it really comfortable. I shot some at 8.5 grains earlier this week and I could feel the power beginning to come in. Put a few through at 11 grains but not suited for targets. Incidentally, re the powders, the HP38 is easier to meter but the Vitavourhi is virtually smokeless. Guess I'll return to the Vitavourhi when this pack is used up. The serial number on my firearm is CEB8406. Can anyone enlighten me as to date of manufacture? Next, someone give me a website for wooden grips as when I looked at Eagle they wanted a third of the cost on top just for shipping! Mike
