New Memeber M&P40 Issue???

This is my first time joining a forum. Just purchased my first Smith & Wesson Pistol, M&P40 w/4.25" barrel. I love the ergonomic design, slim profile and lite-weight. Did some steel plate shooting, last Saturday, and it appears, I couldn't hit the broad-side of a barn. I pulled out my ol' Glock 21 45ACP and started rockin' and rollin.' The M&P40 came w/factory 3-dot Trijicon Night Sights. I plan to go to the range, this weekend, and do some shooting, using my pistol rest to determine if I'm the problem. Contacted S&W and I was told the pistol is capable of a 4" group at 25 yards. Anybody else having a similar issue with the M&P40/sights??? I love this firearm and I'm anxious to solve my issue.

From my own experience, try going one size larger on the grip if you can and use only the end of your finger on the trigger. See if that's any help. I was shooting way low and had crazy fliers. That seemed to bring my groupings up and make them smaller with far fewer fliers (those fliers I do have are still close to the main group, just in a wierd place). Shooting from a kneeling position I find I can group 15 rounds in about 3"+ at 50ft. From a sitting position (leaning back with my knees supporting my pistol) I can pretty easily keep about a 2"+ group at that same range. At 25 yards 4" is easily obtainable.

Could be the difference in trigger pull as your used to the Glock trigger.

I agree with the above post and also the difference in the grip angle between the Block and the M&P. My buddy has a G19, and I am no where near accurate with it after shooting my FS40. Keep shooting it, you will get better. Also, what distance were you set up at?
