Well went out on the deck in back of house and fired 20 rounds of Winchester 1300 fps 40 gr and 20 Agelia (SP?) 36gr HP from 4 different magazines two 12 round from 1993 2206 that were only use a couple times because they were 12 round instead of 10 round, and the two 10 round mags it came with. The reason I didn't like the 12 round mags was 4x12=48 5x10=50 see where I'm coming from???

Anyway no runs, drips or errors and I hit the steel about 30+ times at about 35 yards. The trigger is about 2.5 to 3 pounds at most, no over travel to speak of or any creep at all. I can't wait for the base to arrive so the scope can be put on instead of the big red dot I have on my K-T PMR-30 to blast coyotes and fox with and it even has a light under the barrel for night use when said critters are more active.

So far only down side is it's not suppressor ready.

The last time I fired a gun off my back deck, my neighbors called the cops and I ended up having to pay restitution to the people who live behind me for the bullet holes in their house! 41's are great!

Well I'm in a county of about 6300 with largest town of 650 population, to even see our house from nearest public road (141 yards away) it's a gravel road and you would need a drone at very least. We have 10 acres with house in the middle of it in a valley here in the Ozark Hills.

Well it's an overcast day and 46* out so looks like no shooting today. Bummer!!!

The M41's (especially the vintage ones) were very well built, accurate and fun Target Pistols. They can be a little finicky, ammo sensitive and problematic occasionally, however once you get reliable magazines, find your best performing ammo, (usually CCI standard Velocity 40 grain bullets work best) they usually run well for a long time.

The weak part to the M41 (IMO) is the Factory Extractor which is a stamped out part. Up until very recently, Volquartsen made and sold forged replacement Extractors that usually fixed most of the common extraction problems - however sadly, they are now discontinued and not available anywhere - I did just look recently. The cheap stamped out ones can be tweaked to usually work - but I will miss the Volquartsen's!!

The other unfortunate part of the M41's history is that the new ones now come with cheap, fragile, poorly functioning magazines that rarely fit older guns. If you have an older version it is best to purchase an older Magazine with the metal follower. They are 3 times the price of the new ones, however they work!

My M41 was made and purchased in 1979, has ten's of thousands of rounds through it and performs like a champ! Still as accurate as the day I bought it 41 years ago!

Well my 2 Weaver mounts came today, had to buy a 60 and 62, the 60 for $6 was for the correct length screws and 62 was for the rail to hold the scope. The 62 comes with too short of screws and the 60 even though it only has three holes comes with four screws. So I just took the screws from 60 and used them with the 62 on the 41 and low and behold all is right in the mount. I just throw away the $6 #60 mount.

My 1978 Leupold M8 4x sure looks good on the gun, I can't wait to sight it in, maybe tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

Got run off the back deck where I shoot yesterday by those big brown wasp after about six or seven rounds, and those suckers hurt unlike the little yellow jackets that don't even raise a welt on me.
