My LGS just got in a Model 48-7 6" in 22 WMR. As much as I decry the dreaded lock this revolver impressed me. The fit and finish was flawless with bluing as good as I've ever seen on a S&W. The timing was perfect and the retro Altamonte grips looked and felt fantastic. It's good to see S&W can still build a quality revolver. If this one had been the 4" version I would have bought it on the spot.

Intend to buy the 6 inch..to go along with the 29 and 57 I just got all the enw style grips...love em...this is what Smith should have done years ago...absolutely love mine...also the Perf Center 2.625 29 is the Cat's whiskers..best Smith to date....love Smiths...

I have had a new 4" for about two years now and really like it. I also prefer the the sights on the new gun too , than the old. Very accurate gun .

I would consider one since the older ones are hard to find and expensive. I think I'd prefer the 4" also.
