Purchased from a dealer what was sold as a "pro" model. Certainly the price was "pro".

It was NIB S&W Model 637 Chiefs Special, .38 sp w/CTC Laser LG-305, Pro model, 1 7/8" bbl, SKU 178024, S/N CMV38XX

My question is: How do I know I wasn't taken, supplied with a normal off the line gun? I see no indicators, stamps, etc on it.
The ONLY supporting doc is a 5X7 card that was in the box that says pro on it?

Any suggestions??

Are you sure that is the correct SKU#? That particular SKU isn't listed on S&W's website. There is a 178042 but that number refers to a 642. Maybe post a pic or two and we could help out a little more. Also, is it a 637 no dash, -1, -2?

Just thought of this, maybe it is one of the Performance Center tuned guns. Again, post a few pics

I believe the 637 Pro is a discontinued model. It has a ported 2 1/8" barrel instead of the standard 637 length of 1 7/8".

Follow-up pics & info

OK Checked the box & gun.
Model 637-2, SKU is 178024

Here's pics:
Box label, "tune" label, r -side & L side

I don't see anything that indicates "pro". The PC trigger job label was loose in the box? How does the action feel? I'd think the doube-action pull of a "super-tuned action" like the label touts would be pretty easy to tell from stock.
