New Movie About Seal Team 10 Lone Survivor

I have heard that Mark Wahlberg will be portraying Marcus Lutrell in a new movie from his book "Lone Survivor" about Operation Redwing and Seal Team 10. Lutrell had high praise for the movie and Walhberg's portrayal of him and what he went through. He said they got it right and didn't try to job the events or account of what happened. The movie is supposed to be released before Christmas. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not a reader, and I read the book in two days. (couldn't put it down). Gonna see it on the big screen, wife will go with me oR I'll see it alone, but I will see it.

Well, I am hopeful that it will be not too far removed from the book.
If you read any of Marcus' other books, you will see that he spun the stories wide and far, and the second book was nothing short of completely unbelievable.
With that said, Mark Whalberg is a good actor, and he is truly physical enough to play the part convincingly. So I guess we will have to see; he is going to have some rather large shoes to fill........(Mark is about 5'8", and 175lb. Lutrell is just shy of 6'4" and about 250lb at his ideal weight, with a size 13 foot. (Met him, and the dude has BIG feet!!)
I might go with my sons to see it.

The operation was "Red Wings", as in Detroit Red Wings, not "Redwing". Other than that, I thought the book likely took some significant liberties with reality, but I guess the movie will be entertaining.

"Marky-Mark" was a long time ago, and the guy can do some acting. But I think brother Donnie is a lot better. And he was also in the band in the old days.
