I would hope that S&W would fix this, but it appears to be a cosmetic issue. It's issues like these that drive up the price of older Smiths. There were issues back then too, but just not as many.

Well, I sent the 686 back with a detailed request letter. It took a litle over 1 month, but my revolver came back looking absolutely amazing. It looks better then new! Definitetley worth the wait. Thanks for all of your support and replies. Paul
