Welcome from Texas! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it, my wife and I go to the range frequently and she enjoys the 15-22 more than any other firearm.

Welcome, hello from Albuquerque. I know a couple of dudes from Clovis. Got lucky myself a couple weeks ago with a FDE MOE. Any ammo your way?

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Hoping to find some BLM land to go shooting/hiking around sometime this week. New Mexico weather is weird supposed to have snow on Wednesday. Longgunnm I've had a little bit of luck finding .22 LR rounds at a few of the LGS. Going to go look for extra magazines Tomorrow.

Welcome from Ruidoso:D
Peter Thompson in Portales right by you is my dentist and he's the best for veneers :D

BTW, I happen to be a Geographer/GIS Specialist for the BLM.

:-D

Let me know if you need anything.

Oh, also a member of the Los Lunas Gun Club, we have a REALLY nice range easy of town if anyone wants to tag along some time.

Blasted from my Samsung Galaxy SIII (CM10.1 Masta Mix).

I know Dr Thompson. Been my dentist for years. Since we moved back here in 1999.

Red zman thanks for your service. Next time I go to Albuquerque ill make sure to pack up and go shoot with you and your club. Any ideas on where to get some blm maps that are up to date?

Very cool, Dr Peter Thompson has a vacation home across the highway from us in the Alto Golf Course and Lakes community;)

We go up there about twice a month and go to the inn of the mountain gods. Feels nice to escape clovis and see trees and stuff.

Was my honor, loved almost every minute of it, just wish it ended different. LOL *Sigh*

Of course I do! It's kinda what I do for a living. I'm not technically a cartographer, but I do a lot of cartography. If you give me a hunting unit, a 24K Quad Boundary, or a general area you want to have data for, I can make you a decent map of the area and send it to you in .PDF or anything else you want. I can also get you in touch with the GIS Specialist for the Roswell Field Office, he's a good friend, and he can hook you up with other local data I don't have.

In the meantime, for EVERYONE in New Mexico, let me share a secret source with you...

Alternatively, here's the direct link to all of the 1:100K Surface Ownership maps for NM.

100K Alpha List

They are all updated on a schedule with about 5 to 10 of them being updated a year. If you want a map made at a closer view (smaller scale), with topology or relief shown, and with ownership data accurate to the WEEK, just contact me.

Thanks for the link to the maps. I'm definitely going to go hike around near the bombing range. See what cool stuff ill be able to see and find.
