New PC J frame=new problem

Hi everyone, I'm very new to handguns bought my first two in the lastb 2 months actually. My most recent was a PC 642-2. The 3rd time out shooting it the trigger kinda locked back and wouldn't re set and it did this a few more times. After getting back I tried putting some break free CLP behind the trigger, which seemed to help a little bit but now the trigger feels weird and gritty almost and still sticks a little bit. Any idea on what happned. Will s&w make me pay for repairs since I tried putting some clp behind the trigger?

Probably long ratchets. Improper fitting (or no fitting) can cause the hand to rub/stick on the ratchet, (or ratchets) as it passes by them during the final phase after "carry up" of the cylinder. Dry firing may help. If this doesn't help the issue, and since the gun is new, I would contact S&W Customer Service, 1-800-331-0852. They will repair at no cost.

Sorry to hear of your troubles OP. S&W has great customer service.

On another note: We are betting our lives, and all that we love, on these things. They should go bang every time and work correctly from the factory.

Putting a bit of lube/cleaner on the gun won't deny warranty. Give them a call.

Similar has happened to me. Call S&W to have it taken care of.
