New primer prices

My local LGS has thousands of primers (and powder) at $35.00 per 1000. His powder is also $35.00 per pound. Bullets galore at pre greediness prices.

You are lucky sir. I wish I could say the same.

Ditto that! Even with what I already have I'd still be buying if the prices were normal.

It IS free enterprise. If you feel that it's taking advantage, so be it. If you were to sell your primers for a good price, say $80 per K, is that gouging?
So you sell them for $80 per K and the purchaser now goes out and sells them for $160 per K, is that gouging?
There are many circumstances that can dictate the price, among them might be how hard up a person is that is doing the selling. If the "gouger" hasn't worked for months due to the Pandemic and needs rent money or food for his kids, you don't think that guys going to get all that he can to feed his family?
There are many other instances that lend themselves to the stated "gouging", many that have similar stories, a true need.
Not everyone is "gouging". But even at that, it IS free enterprise!

Prices have not changed much if any. The availability of them is low and some people are scalping what they have or can get at places like gun shows to people who are either wealthy or desperate in some way. People need to stop supporting the scalpers and let them eat what they have.

They will eventually. This won't last forever.

Well I certainly learned the hard way I guess, I've been hand loading for almost a year exactly...

I struggle to find primers to keep this passion burning...

Just the other day I paid 200.00 for 2500 SPP not my finest hr but it will keep me moving foward, I lucked out and grabbed 1k srp #41 for 80 shipped...

Maybe free enterprise is the proper term maybe its not, I would simply look at that price tag and go on my merry way....

It may be a question of morals, BUT and I say this BOLDLY they are his and he can do what he pleases, if somebody wants to pay his price.... so be it...

Primers is not the only thing going through the roof. I received an email from Sig today on 9mm bullets @$39 a 100+ shipping. Add the $30 a 100 primers and it makes for one expensive round. I can still get 9mm ammo from my local range for $54 a 100

Sharing Matters

Mr. Mike, SC Hunter, Yea, you gave away some primers, that
was very noble, but you also have cultivated a New Person into
a very interesting Hobby.

I congratulate you for helping a new enthusiast.

The best to you and your Endeavors.

Midway has had Sig/Sierra bullets off and on for the last year. $29/100

Seriously , if Jake1945's local guy will ship , I am essentially devoid of SP .

$100 per Hundred is a new level , but $30 per Hundred is common .

In a Free Market , Selling Price = The intersection of Willing Seller and Willing buyers , and that's a better thing than any imposition of external controls .

That said ; To Me , @ $30 I will stick with what I have . For hypothetically $10- ish . I'd get a few hundred SPP specifically for experementing and actual Hunting loads , but not waste them for bulk loading .

Just got email in stock @ $60 per 1000-==$300 per case. GINEX. I wish others would package like this They are faster to use with a primer tube like Tula and Wolf.
