I carry a 1911 most days, I am left handed . I learned about PURDY holsters through this Forum. I finally got around to calling Karla last week and it just so happened she was putting finishing touches on a LH 1911 holster with new basket weave pattern that she had never used before. I bought it. It arrived yesterday.
I am a Honorary Director of TEXAS & SOUTHWESTERN CATTLE RAISERS ASSOC. We had a fundraiser for our 150th anniversary . KIMBER made us a 1911 in .45 acp with IVORY grips. They were engraved by a former USMC VIETNAM VET from IRELAND who lives in Killeen,TEXAS. There were 40 made. I got #33. You got to put your cattle Brand on the grips and the gun. My GGGrandfather registered the S brand in this county in 1871.
Does this qualify as a "BBQ Rig" ?

Great looking 1911 and Purdy holster. I'd say you have a nice BBQ rig.

I've been a fan of Karla's work for years and believe that her work is some of the best in the country.

That holster sure is...dare I say it...PURDY. :)

She does great work I'm told, thanks for sharing it.

The "BBQ Rig" doesn't, historically, have to be a super fancy set up. It does have to be the best you've got to impress. And you might be called on for impromptu shooting matches behind the barn if it's too fancy to prove you're not "all hat and no buckle ". :)

Thanks for sharing this. IMHO, you have one of the most tasteful and handsome BBQ rigs on the planet.

Absolutely beautiful !! For the campfire, we prefer mesquite and live oak wood along with a little sipping' whiskey.
