Put a fancy smanchy radio (gifted) in my old jeep. It has a USB connection that allows a zip drive to plug in. Transported about 60 tunes from my iTunes library onto the zip, plugged in the zip to radio and presto - music. Feeling pretty smug about then. THEN, it only plays the same 2 songs, over and over.

Came back to computer and opened the zip file. Not really knowing much about this - but I think the problem is - the two songs that play are marked mp3 in file, all the others are _m_ something or other (mostly m4a, a few m4p and 1.m4a).

Question for any one that knows about this stuff, is that indeed the problem and/or what can be done about it.

Any help appreciated.

while it will be a PITA you can probably find an audio file converter at downloads.com to convert them to MP3
When I pull tunes off a CD, I usually do multiple file types. FLAC and MP3. that gives me a high quality set for home and a universal set for the road

first off, a zip drive is something else entirely different.
I've never messed with iTunes, so I cant help you there, but I'm guessing it has to do with copy protection, so you are probably SOL
rip some music from your CDs, and call it a day

*old guy rant*
back in my day we just downloaded pirated songs off the internet, and we liked it!

Start the itunes program. Highlight all the songs you want to move. Click on "Advanced...Create MP3 Version"
Go to your library and get the MP3 files.

I thought it was called a zip drive. It says on _ it _ SanDisk w/a bunch of #'s and on other side Cruzer micro 2 GB. My bad.

thumb drive or USB drive are common terms for them

ZIP drives are old mass storage drives (think 3.5" floppies on steroids) formally useful for creating HDD back-ups, but they are too outdated now for just about anything

Its a JEEP!!, do what I do take the doors off and enjoy the sound of fresh air,:cool::cool:26

I am sorry but I can not help you. However, most any child five years of age and up can likely fix this for you in less time than I spent typing this message.

Hey cowart, thanks. I do not have _ Create MP3 in Advanced. (have open stream, subscribe to pod cast, turn on home sharing, choose photos to share, get album artwork, deauthorize audofile account and others not in bold).
If I go to Help and choose import options > mp3 encoder > then what ?, nothing happens. Maybe import options is not the right choice. Can't find anything about creating mp3.

My iTunes version is 10.6, think the latest.

Any ideas.

Okay, figured it out. Once I had chosen mp3 encorder in import options and then went back to Advanced the Create mp3 was in the drop down menu. So thanks cowart, I just needed to come at it from a different direction. You were right. THANKS.

And to you Mister ColbyBruce, I didn't need no stikin' 5 year old, 'course it did take me 2 hrs. :) :D

Thanks to everyone. :p
