Anyone pick one up yet, and how have you found it as far as shooting it?? I have the LCP gen 2 and I'm wondering if it worth grabbing one. I usually like to sit on the side lines with a new guns until they shake out the bugs but this one looks interesting. :D

Is the new one (LCP II) still hammer fired, or striker fired? Ruger makes the LC9 in striker fired now, so I was wondering.

I handled one today. It is an internal hammer. The trigger pull is pretty darn good. There is some take up and then it breaks at an estimated 5 or 6 lbs. Reset is very short. The grip is slightly thicker. I currently have an LCP custom and the new LCP 'll feels better and I like the trigger better. Would like to fire one before I buy.

I bought one and it's a huge improvement over the original design. First off the grip was redesigned, it's a little thicker and has stipling. The slide finally has usable sights and both front and rear serrations. The biggest improvement is the 2 stage single action trigger over the previous long double action. I also posted 2 YouTube videos under

How much bigger is it in the pocket? I don't think I am going to replace mine but for me the biggest advantage of the original version is the slim profile and its pocketable characteristics. How much do the changes to the gun alter the in the pocket feel? Will is fit in existing pocket holsters that fit the original LCP.

Ruger actually ships the new LCP II in a pocket holster inside the box. As for the feel in the pocket it's no different than the older model, you cannot tell any difference at all. I carry mine in a Sticky Holster since I already had that holster for my previous LCP.
I predict there are going to be a lot of the older models on the used gun market once these LCP IIs become more available.
