I bought two S&W's off of gunbroker today and I will be sending out the funds tomorrow for them. I bought a Model 67 in really nice condition and a S&W 29-2 that is supposed to be new and unfired.

Here are pictures that I took off of gunbroker

Model 67 - pinned barrel

Model 29-2 unfired ?

Well, you just hauled off and bought both of those boogers, didn't you? Nice!!

Congratulations!

And thank you, for buying that Model 67. I've been watching it, on there, for a while now. (My wife would kill me if I bought another gun.)

In case you didn't know, those are most likely the original stainless-steel sights, as that 67 is a very early production. (I had reqested the serial number from the seller.)

Enjoy!

I just wanted a really clean Model 67 with pinned barrel. If it has factory stainless sights then that's a real plus.
I still plan to picking up a Model 28 later this year when I rebuild my funds account. I also think the Model 29-2 is really great except if it's really unfired I will be reluctent to shoot it and it would be the first gun I ever bought with the intentions of not shooting it.
I still haven't heard from the seller of the model 67 but I got an email from the seller of the model 29 this morning.

It wasn't advertised as such but as far as I can tell it is. I will be getting it sometime next week as I'm sending the payment tomorrow.

Congratulations on two fine pistolas!! Enjoy them in good health and thanks for sharing pics with us!

I wish I still had my 67 is was a great shooter.....I have always wanted a 29-2.... nice snag

Great looking guns, mind if I ask what you paid for the 67? I saw one listed as unfired NIB with the pinned barrel for $595. Is this a fair price.

No, that's highway robbery.

$400-$450 would be a more reasonable price range.

I had that 67 on GB "my auctions" watch list. I like to see what they sell for. That's a nice gun and well bought.
Mod 29-2's are steadly climbing in price (aren't they all).
I bought a NIB one about a year ago.
So far I've left it unfired only because I have others to shoot.

you have a fabulous looking 29-2 with all the goodies. Mine doesn't have the goodies but it's supposed to be unfired. The prices have been steadily climbing on them and they are getting really hard to find.

I am really not a collector as I prefer to buy really nice 95-98% guns and then shoot them. Buying a new unfired gun and having it sit in the safe as an investment is a new thing that I'm not sure I'm ready for.

I have 3 safe queens. It's a different feeling if you are used to shooting your purchases. I bought 2 29-2s unfired. It was really difficult to leave them home. So I bought another 29. No dash from Sal but it had been fired. So that took care if that anxiety. I would still like a less collectable 29 to just shoot without worry of scratching or damaging it .
