I bought a S&W 629 .44 mag 30yrs ago. It came with scope mounts and finally one broke. I have not been able to locate the original but I heard that there is a mount that can be purchased and installed by removing the rear sight and using the mounting hole. Can anyone please let me know what that mount is and who makes it? I would appreciate any help in getting my scope back on my revolver. Thank you.

One I formerly had was a B-Square. It secures with a screw in the factory sight hole, and a couple of "ears" clamp down on the frame. I would NOT recommend it for anything over a 38 Special with wad cutters. The "ears" will scratch your frame, and more than one have had the mount screw shear off and had to be drilled out and re-threaded. The only way to properly do it is remove the factory sights and have the frame drilled and tapped then put a mount rail on it.
