Don't even have it in my hands yet, but it's ordered and on the way to my local store. Even the guy at the counter was surprised at the list of features for the price and said that it was a lot of gun for the money so he ordered a few to keep on hand as well.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had any pics of the SD9 with a Streamlight TLR-3 attached?

Any recommendations for a concealed carry holster for the small of my back? Haven't found too much info in my searching, so I figured I must not have been searching the right places.

Any particular ammo it does or doesn't like? I'm planning to keep Speer Gold Dot in it at the house, but would like to go break it in with a few hundred rounds and not empty the wallet. Local Academy has Monarch brass for $10/50 rounds.

Kinda dumb, does it come with one or two magazines? Guy at the store wasn't sure.

Looking forward to my new gun and a new forum!

I am a complete newbie so I can't answer most of your questions. I did just get the S&W SD9 as a Christmas gift and have put 100 rounds through it just to try it out. It does come with 2 magazines. Mine was the 16 round mag, there is a 10 round mag also. While I am too new to shooting to give much of an opinion, I used the Winchester White Box ammo, inexpensive at Walmart, and shot all 100 rounds without a hitch. My first shot was right on target, I won't comment on the other 99 though. I do need practice. Have fun with it and let me know what you think once you get it and shoot it.

My sons didnt like Monarch brass at all. FTF, FTE, 10 out of the 100 I fired did not even push back the slide after they were fired. Switched over to WWB 115grain, 200 rounds no hiccups at all. Excellent handgun, your going to love it. Congrats.

No pictures of the TLR but I bought a nebo 190 off ebay for $40 shipped. Figured it would be cheap based on the price but am extremely pleased with the quality and durability. Did a few drop tests from about 10 feet and this thing just works. 190 lumens with 2 modes, on and strobe. So far I have shot about 300 rounds of federal 9mm with no problems out of the SD9 and about 600 rounds of mixed federal remington and reloads out of my SD40. These really are great weapons for the money.

I put a Streamlight TLR-2S on my 4013TSW and didn't like it at all. I shoot with the index finger of my support hand in front of the trigger guard and the light prevented me from doing that. Since I have shot that way for 35 years I didn't want to change my grip. The controls I thought were a little awkward, and it seemed too big and cumbersome on the compact gun. I do think its a good product just not on that gun. I relocated it to my 15-22 and it's right to home on that. With a vertical fore grip I can run the light with the my left hand index finger knuckle and it works perfectly!

Do you have a pic of the nebo 190 on a SD9? I'm looking for something that won't stick past the end of the barrel. Also, is the white lettering on the sides a sticker or painted on? Not too big on free advertising, and the TLR-3 looks much more subdued than that light (on sale for $70 from Midway and I was very close to clicking the "check out" button this morning since the sale price expires tomorrow).

Don't care for the strobe feature; I'm not running a disco, and I'd like to be able to easily identify what my weapon is pointed at.

Picked up my gun this morning before work. Local store didn't have any WWB so I'll be stopping by Academy on the way home, and if they don't have it, I'll be heading to *gasp* Walmart.

Also get to enjoy the fun task of trying to locate some Speer Gold Dot rounds, enough to fill each clip to leave in it at the house.

Will the SD9 handle +P or +P+ ammo?

No need to *gasp* at the mention of Walmart IMO. I buy Federal Champion ammo for my M&P 9 FS there ($10.47 for 50 rounds). Haven't had any issues (FTF, FTE). :D

Well I work for their largest competitor, so I try to avoid helping them out at all, lol. I work near a Bass Pro Shop and they were lacking in anything 9mm save for some Winchester SXT and it was near $18 for a box of 50.

Just ordered a case from Pistol and Rifle Ammo ? Ammunition With Attitude so that should last me for a while, but I really want to go shoot this gun on Saturday and I didn't spring for the overnight shipping, lol.

On my SD40. I have another on my SD9 that doesn't have the lettering.
SD9 is ok with +p but not +p+

Thank you! I think I'm going to splurge on the TLR-3 for the compact size.

Academy had 100rd boxes of the WWB for $20.

Finally got to go shoot my SD9 yesterday. 450 rounds with no issues whatsoever: 100 rounds of Remington 115g, 200 rounds of WWB 115g, 100 rounds of Winchester NATO 124g, and 50 rounds of Winchester SXZ. Aside from the sights being WAY off (talking a foot to the right at the 15' mark) the gun shot great. It shot as fast as I could pull the trigger during a few spirited attempts to cause a jam. All in all, I have no reservations about using this for home defense to protect myself and my loved ones (it will still be serving backup to my 12 gauge) and as soon as I can locate some Speer Gold Dots and run 50 or so through to make sure they feed right, I will be set. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and my Streamlight TLR-3 is waiting for me at home according to UPS, so I'll put up a pic of that when I get home.

Side note, buddy of mine bought a Sigma 9mm yesterday. He also put 500 rounds through it (no cleaning beforehand, from the store to the range) and it shot well. I was able to confirm that the magazines are interchangeable and aside from the plastic on the bottom, they look identical. He will be looking to order the SD9 bottom plates for his Sigma, lol.

Thanks for the link! In the meantime I am using Winchester SXZ and Fiocchi Extrema XTP. (SXZ in the magazines, haven't tested the XTP at the range yet so won't load it).

And now, the TLR-3. Exactly the size I wanted. I can easily maneuver the controls and it's plenty bright. It's really making me want to order a Surfire replacement forend for my shotgun, but I have a hard time putting a $340 light on a $300 shotgun, lol.
