No, A grudge because they never offered to pay shipping on their mistake. No I don't want a free lunch. I can afford to buy a hundred mags if I want but I expect a higher Standard from Smith customer service .

In all reality, it IS YOUR responsibility to inspect the weapon and contents BEFORE you put down the cash and walk away with the weapon.

I'm guessing they've gotten their share of bogus "I only got 1 mag", "I only got X round mags" stories over the years, so now they'll only swap 1 for 1, rather than simply sending out a freebie.

Did inspect. Didn't realize it was supposed to come with one of each till I looked up and researched on S&W site. I have found a friend that has one and tried the seven round mag and I think that I am happy Smith screwed up with mine . The eight round mag feels way better. you are right I need to inspect anything from Smith way better than I have in the past. I have purchased eight Smith and Wesson pistols in the last four years and this is the only problem I have had. Turned out good for me tho.

I always check everything out and do my homework. There are a few shady dealers out there that will try to pull a "fast one" now and then.

The 7 rd is ok, but I prefer the feel of the 8 rd much better in my hand.

I too have a nice collection of the M&P's handguns (jumped on the M&P's when they first came out). Mine are 9's and 45's and one 22. Zero issues or problems.
