Hi All,

I finally broke down and picked up a brandy new shield from Quantico Tactical in Woodbridge,VA. I bought a Ruger LC9s Pro a few weeks ago. It is a nice gun but I'm just not feeling it for some reason. The grip of the gun is almost too thin for me and I was constantly adjusting my grip after each shot. The shield feels 10X better in my hand than the Ruger. It seems to have a bit more grip for me to hold on too.

.

Tonight I will give it a good cleaning. I'm going to try and get out this weekend to shoot it. Hope it shoots as good as it looks and feels. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1425068267.789459.jpg

If anyone is looking for a barely used Ruger LC9S Pro in the northern va area let me know.

Take care

Dave

Congrats on the new Shield. Mine's been running like a top since I got it, hopefully you have the same experience. Have fun and be safe.

Congrats!!
Needing to readjust my grip after every couple shot is what I felt when I shot both the LC9 (every variant), as well as the XD-S. For me, the Shield felt like it was made for my hand.

The other thing I didn't like about the LC9 series was the perceived recoil in my arthritic (very recoil sensitive) wrist. The Shield is an 'All Day Shooter' and is sometimes the only pistol I take to the range.

I hope you like it as much as I always have (and good luck on your LC9S sale).

congrats on the new shield, I love mine, as stated , Talon rubber grips feel nice !! I have around 500 shots on mine with out the first hiccup!

Congrats on the new Shield, Its a great gun, I think you'll be impressed with it at the range.. Buy plenty of ammo & keep it clean!

Congrats! I got my Shield two years ago and so far no issues whatsoever. Love this gun; added Rubber Talon Grips and Crimson Trace Laser...Using Hidden Hybrid Holster.

Congrats on your new Shield. I love mine and its one of my favorite EDC. I put a Viridian Reactor laser on mine with a Crossbreed Holster. Great gun!! You will definitely enjoy.

Congrats! Mine has moved to the top of my carry rotation, just added the Apex duty/carry kit-hitting the range in a couple hours to run it, woohoo.

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to look into a crossbreed or alien gear IWB. I was unable to get to the range today. Saturday's at the range here are brutal anyway. I'm doing some dry firing to see if I can smooth out this trigger if possible. I still can't get over how well this gun feels in my hand. I have not been this excited about a new gun purchase in a while. I put my LC9S Pro on armslist last night and it sold this morning. I got the shield for $324.00 and sold the LC9 for $325.00. Not too shabby. I will check back in once I hit the range.
Take Care

You got a great pistol for a super price, I haven't seen them less than $ 400.00 here. A friend of mine brought his Shield 40 to shoot for the 1st time at my place today ( I have a 25 yd range on my property ), I shot it and was very impressed. He paid $399.99 for it less tax which was $25.00 less than the other shops around here. Needless to say, he is very happy with his Shield.

Alien gear wears nicely but it was on about a 3 week wait when I ordered one. I got a desantis sof-tuk to hold me over until the, alien gear arrived and ended up liking it a lot.

Congrats on the new Shield. I have had my Shield 9mm for a little over a year now and love it. I carry it every day in a Foxx IWB holster. Like many others I did install the Apex duty/carry kit on this gun and highly recommend it. It did improve things but not nearly as dramatically as it did on my M&P .40 Full Size. Enjoy!

Congrats! I bought my Shield 40 in September and have about 700 trouble free rounds through it now. I put rubber Talon grips on a few nights ago and it makes this little powerhouse even better! Good luck with yours.

Hi, I'm new here and also a new Shield 9 owner. I have been to the range for two trips and about 400 rounds and love mine. I have a local dealer who is selling both the 9 & 40 for $350!!!

Congratulations on that new Shield. I've been to that Quantico Tactical store in Woodbridge a few times. I bought my 9mm Shield without thumb safety from a vendor at the gun show in Fredericksburg. I don't have large hands so it feels great and shoots soft.
