Wasn't planning on it, but was checking out the local gander mountain clearance sale and they had their firearms listed 15% off, along with the $75 mail in rebate it was too much to pass. So a 45 with no thumb safety was adopted. :D

Congrats on the new Shield .45.
Only 120 rounds through mine so far, but no problems whatsoever.
Have fun and be safe.

Congratulations. I have a Shield in 45 caliber also. I won't tell you what my cost was after the rebate for fear you might decide to buy a second one.

Looking forward to taking it out to the range, hopefully I can find time soon! Any ammo suggestions? I picked up some AE 230 gr poly coated just so I have something.
Earlier this year I joked with a friend that since I turn 45 this year that maybe I should get something in a .45 to celebrate. Guess that planted a seed.

Yeah, for the range, I like AE 230 gr FMJ and Fiocchi 230 gr FMJ. For SD ammo, I like the Federal HST 230 gr. standard pressure.

Congrats! I have one myself and now it is my edc with two seven rounds mag.
