The story behind this Spring/Rod Assembly is....
I bought a used S&W SIGMA SW40F. The rod was breaking, so I order another one.
I ended up taking the gun back to the guy I bought it from before the part arrived....
the gun was not worth the trade I made. .......so there ya go.....
