I have owned a couple of AR-15's for several years now, including a S&W Sport. My AR's have functioned perfectly and I have made few changes to them.

But I just couldn't ignore the low prices on AR's anymore, so ordered a Sport II from Tombstone Tactical. I think the days of being able to buy a good AR for under $500 may be just about over.

Should have the Sport II early next week and I am looking forward to my first range trip.

I guess I need to buy a sling!

IT is always fun to take a new (to you) weapon out to the range. Don't forget to share the range report with us.

I pick mine up tomorrow and I agree with the OP on you just can beat it for under 500 price point.. I also bought a Trijicon MRO Black 1X25 2.0MOA Illuminated Red Dot w/ Full Co-Witness Mount to go with it.

I picked my new sport 2 up Monday. Did a cleaning and inspection on Tuesday, and fired 40 rounds through the AR. I had no malfunctions, and put all but one shot in a five inch bullseye at 50 yards. I bought this AR to keep for future use, so I cleaned the rifle and put it back into it's box. I am totally happy with it and at the price I paid I consider it a bargain.

I also own a Rock River and a Sport AR that I paid more for several years ago, and both have been great firearms.

I have the same rifle, sport 2 of it. There is a "stud" at the bottom of the front sight (below the barrel) which I cannot figure out the use of it. One gun shop guy told me it is for mounting a bayonet, but I could not find any bayonet that fit to it. Can anyone tell me what exactly is it for? actually I am trying to find a place to Mount a bipod to the rifle. I Thought that stud is for this purpose

Yep., the Sport II a great entry level rifle that's priced right. Fun to accessorize.
Doesn't the front sight Block or interfere your view in scope? can they co exist?

Actually From another topic I confirm that stud is Indeed meant for bayonet, and there is an attachment plate just for it to Mount a bipod

In order to mount a bayonet, you will need a bayonet adapter, explained here. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN1R0Dv87Zs[/ame]

Thanks for the replies!

Anyone have a recommendation for a two point sling???

I purchased a BDS 2-point sling. It has the HK clips and it is comfortable, adjustable and very adaptable. I think it was around $20 and I may have ordered it through that great American armory, Walmart. I probably will be scaling back my business with them as their nincompoop CEO does not want to sell ammo or hand guns in Alaska. I didn't know they actually sold those. Magpul makes and excellent 2 point sling as well, but more expensive.
