New style slide stop in stock

Unfortunately, they have a $50 minimum to purchase it. Gotta go see if I need anything else. Gotta go see if I have $50 left in the shooting budget.

I was stopped by the $50 limit as well. Would have bought the H stamp trigger bars too but they are OOS.

Really don't need anything else at the moment. Maybe next time around.

Yeah the $50 min does suck. I ordered one for a buddy, as well as a 40 rnd pmag and an extra FS mag spring.

I just ordered four of them, needed to get over the $50 minimum and there was nothing else they had in stock that I needed.

I'm keeping three of them, two for guns I own and one I'm thinking about buying. I'd anyone wants to buy the fourth one about me a PM. I might be selling off two of them, still debating on if I need another M&P in my life right now.

ETA: Slide stop levers are spoken for.

While on their site I looked at a 9mm Shield to see the price. $360 is bad and they will sell and install Apex kits. BUT, this warning bothered me,

"NOTE; if you select DCAEK install, you will need to select new sights (as the old sights will most likely be damaged upon removal)!"

Hmmmmmmmmm. Makes me wonder if its just easier for them to ruin a set of sights and sell another than it does to take the time to do it right.

I would assume that is the case. I've installed four apex kits so far into various guns, have never damaged a set of sights yet. You would think a company like that would have access to something as basic as a sight pusher tool...heck, they sell them on their website.

How can I tell if my M&P's have the "new" slide stop.

I have an M&P 9C wit the the "H" stamped trigger bar
I also have and M&P Pro Series CORE 40 that has the "H" stamped trigger bar.

What do I look for on the slide stop?

Thanks

It has a small bump on the inside of the right side by the thumb pad. Look at the pic in the link above.

How many of them were Shields?

Two of them actually. I did them in a Shield 9 and a Shield 40 for a coworker and his wife. The other two were a M&P 40 compact and my M&P Pro 5". Granted the Shield sights were a bit tighter of a fit than the standard M&P pistols, as long as you don't have your head shoved up your rear end, know what you are doing and use the proper tools there is no reason that the rear sight cannot be removed undamaged.

This company claiming that the sights will probably be damaged IMHO means that they either don't know what they are doing, are not using the correct tools (which would be hilarious since they sell a sight pusher on their website), or...more likely...they just DGAF and want to sell you a set of sights at the same time. After all, if they can't remove the factory sight without damaging it, how are they getting the new sight in without damaging it. In my experience it takes almost the same amount of force installing a M&P sight as it does to remove it.

My new slide stop came in yesterday. Took a couple try's to line everything up to get the trigger pivot pin back in, but it's so much better. Amazing what a difference that little nub makes.

I have my gunsmith play with the sights on the 5 M&P's we own. All of them have Apex parts in them. 2 of them have had their sights replaced. On my 9c the sights came off nice and easy. On the husbands 9c, the front sight would not come off at all. The gunsmith had to cut it off. So, it does happen. The gunsmith I use seems to know what he is doing and others that we shoot USPSA with comment that he is a great gunsmith. I think that G&R might be just covering their ***'s just in case a sight does not want to come off.

Agreed. My 45 full size feels like a whole new gun with that little part in it. No real difference on my 5" 9mm Pro, but that gun already had the APEX RAM in it, so I wasn't really expecting anything, just wanted to have the latest revision of the lever in the gun.

Also, the trigger pivot pin was a complete PITA to put back in on both of my guns. Never had that issue before, wondering if the holes on the updated slide stop lever are slightly smaller than the older lever.

If anyone has a spare NEW style slide stop I would sure like to take it off your hands. Or if considering ordering enough to meet the minimum I
would be be in for one.

I ordered one of these and the upgraded sear block assembly for my 08 40c.
Got it in two days, Kudos to these guys. I was waiting on it to get back in stock (to fill the $50 minimum)
No issues with the slide lock, didn't notice much of a difference to be honest. Had to grind the pistol frame a bit to accept the new sear block, but fired a few hundred trouble free rounds since... Hats off to G&R

Forgive me for my ignorance but, what is the advantage to the new slide stop and what is wrong with the original factory one.

Many people complain about the weak or complete lack of a tactile reset. The "bump" puts more side pressure on the trigger bar so it's a more defined "snap" when the trigger resets.
