Hi All,
I was at my local GS recently and they had a 617-1 in near perfect shape (I would say 98%) out the door for $495. Since being a newb to S&W, I thought that seemed really high for a ".22 Pistol." Fortunately for me, a nice gentleman SW aficionado, told be as I was holding it that I should buy that right now if I was in the market for a .22 Smith. He went into some details that I've learned here the past couple of weeks. If I had known at the time what the new gun prices were, I would not have needed his advice but thankful the timing was right!
Long story short, I did buy it and its a beauty. 617-1 with square butt. Came with Pachmry grips but I'm going to replaced them ASAP.
