Picked this up today from a coworkers father. First time Ive tried to post pics on here so if it doesn't work Ill try again.
Has original grips box and I think all the papers. Serial starts with N161XXX I think that means its around a 1974?? Action is like butter!

If you didn't pay over $600.00 I would say you did fine. That's a great revolver I have an identicle 28-2 that from 1979 and they are the same as the model 27 except for glossy blueing. Same action and generally have great triggers and shoot well. And that's a four in that's really hard to find in a model 27. Shoot it a lot and enjoy your fine revolver.

28-2 you got a good deal. Take the Hogue grips off and put the Magna grips on add a Tyler T Grip and that gun will be beautiful.

Nice but watch for moisture build-up under those goodyears.
Find a set of wooden grips that fit your hand well and that
will be a good looking gun as well as a great shooter.

I'll try em out and post the pictures. This is just how the gun came and I haven't had time to change em or even clean it up yet.

Got the grips changed but need the screw to hold em on. Still dirty haven't had time to clean it. You can see the old oil and gunk that was under the Hogue grips. Im off work tomorrow so I should have plenty of time to get her all clean and pretty.

Very nice, I love my pair of 28's.

I like looks of wood, stag, or mica rat grips too. But for shooting, give me Hogues every time.

I cant seem to find anywhere that has the screw to hold the stocks on. Anyone know where I might find it?

Take the grips to a real hardware store, they should be able to find a small electrical screw that will match the nut, then trim it to size. I went this route with a Charter arms gun that was in need of a new screw.
