new to me 5" S prefix 27-2

My 27-2 5" with Zane Thompson Roper- style fancy walnut stocks.

THIS IS MINE SHIPPED 1959, a NO DASH 27 SERIAL S199963 WITH A SET OF ivories I MADE and a home made box

That looks more like a 3.5" barrel to me.
Correct me if I'm wrong.



This was my pre-27 3.5" shipped 8/15/55.

Got this one about 20 years ago. Had aftermarket stocks and those I replaced with modern magnas. About 12 years ago I gave it to my son. When he was moving I stored his guns for a while and snapped this pic.

I just have one 5" M-27-2 shipped Sept 4th, 1975.
I've had it now for about 8 years and I've never fired it.

Mine was shipped with smooth target stocks, my brother added the prestation target stocks.

Kenny, yours looks superb. So, it lettered be shipped with smooth Target grips? Do you happen to still have the originals? I know S&W mostly ships engraved guns with their presentation grips, and the ones your brother added look great.
