I recently was able to acquire this 686-4 3". I haven't really seen too many of these around. I have the original rubber grips for this gun but decided to add the beautiful Culina French Walnut Grips. Pretty much the same as my 686 CS1 3" (Culina Cocobolo grips) except for the finish.

Wait CobiaS&W, let me get this straight! You decided to completely RUIN the looks of your 686-4 by swapping out the original beautiful rubber grips and replacing them with a pair of disgusting Culina French Walnut grips? That makes me want to 🤮!

OK, no way in this universe could I say that with a straight face! Those Culina grips are spectacular. I love the grain and the exhibition finish on them really pops on a stainless gun. French Walnut is one of my favorite woods for grips and John does tremendous work with it. He is an artist. Thanks for sharing that gem with us!

That's a beautiful one CobiaS&W and looks even nicer with those French Walnut grips. The 3" 686's look so balanced with the full underlug. You'll have to let us know how it shoots the magnums!

Thanks for sharing the great pics!

Very nice score there on that harder to fine 3 inch 686-4. Those Culina grips really set it off nice and add good contrast.
