New to me 686 - date help please

I started my gun obsession with semi autos. I got all the ones I need. Now my obsession has turned to revolvers, but I'm picky....must be older ones with no lock. I just find the action and craftsmanship of these pieces of art amazing. You always hear "they don't make 'em like they used to." Well, I truly think that's the case here.

I just picked this one up today. We all know it's a 686 no-dash with a 4" barrel. It'll complement the nickel 6" 586 no-dash I picked up a few weeks ago.

Could someone help with the date of shipment. My 586 had a date on the inside of the grips, but I don't think these grips are original.

Serial # is AEJ73XX. And, of course, pics:

$600 plus a $35 transfer fee. My dealer had new ones for $790, but like I said earlier, I don't prefer the newer ones. I think I got a great deal for a no-dash in this condition. I NEVER see these locally so I jumped on it. I actually got it from these classifieds.

Unfortunately, no box/docs/tools came with it. Oh well.

Congrats, I have a 686 no dash also, sent it in for the mod, got the tracking number back to me this morning. My serial starts with AJV93xx I was told 1985
