My model 19 no dash 4 inch arrived today. It came with diamond target grips that look great and the the finish looks very good except for the end of the barrel which has some holster wear. Locks up nice and tight, and the trigger pull is very crisp. I have to clean it good tonight and as soon as I can I will take some pictures and post them.
Serial number is K3 572xx.
Can someone give me the DOB?
Thanks

Thanks for the info. It's a beautiful old revolver. I just looked and the grips do not have any numbers on them, but they look good, although I did see a couple of handling marks.
Thanks for the info and I will post some pictures as soon as I can.

Pictures Added

Here are the pictures of the Model 19 that I got this week. The pictures make the grips look like the newer version of the diamond grips that I have seen on the new S&W guns, but they don't really look that way in person. I think they are the original grips.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

WOW is the first thing that comes to my mind. That is a REALLY nice specimen! The grips are correct. And gorgeous! You picked a winner, that's for sure. WOW!
f.t.

I have the twin to that one (mine has a target trigger). I found mine right on a dealers shelf and I couldn't believe the price. She's one of my fav's.
There's only one problem with a find like that, how will you ever sell it? It reminds me of when the jeweler tried to tell me that my wife's engagement ring was an investment. Ya right!
Enjoy!

Beautiful gun.

Once you have your picture on photobucket, click on the image code link and paste it into your post. The image code pops up when you click on your picture on photobucket. My 19-3

WOW is the word that comes to mind..
The blueing on the early CM's are so nice!

The earliest examples had non relieved Walnut target grips.

Your Target grips look right to me and are the same as mine,
That is the later relieved Goncalvo Alves K "Cokes".

Im trying to get an idea of what these are worth in todays market.
The real way to figure that out is to know what people are paying for them.
They arent that common anymore as people are putting them away.

Its one thing for a seller that doesnt know its a 4 screw no dash to price it like a later dash gun but the dealers are realizing they are worth more and asking much more as a result.

Congrats and thanks for sharing it.

That does seem true. I'm a noob but is there a documented difference in the blue-ing process in the early models? It looks that way to me.

You are welcome. Someone told me how to do it when I started posting. That gun is gorgeous.

Stocks and gun are both spectacular. What a beautiful package.

There's just something about a K-frame with an ejector rod shroud. Most K-frames look good, but the ones with the shroud somehow look more (dramatic pause here) complete.
