I have been looking for one of these for a while. Since NJ went CCW they have been harder to find. I hope to take it to the range tomorrow AM before work.
For some unknown reason the stocks/grips do not match. They are numbered 724979. If anyone has that RB J-frame pm me a picture of your serial number and I'll send you these stocks/grips.

Nice looking Model 60. Likely shipped in '86.

There are two possibilities for your stocks. Probably from '69 if there's no large J stamped inside both of them, and from '80 if there is a large J or RDJ stamped inside. I'd guess the second date is more likely.

I'm not home but I don't recall seeing either a large J or RDJ inside the stocks. I will confirm when I get home from work tonight.

I was wrong. It might be JRD as shown in the photo. If it's only a J it will be stamped roughly in the same place as this JRD.

Press-1... That was my gun! You bought it from Shooters about 2 months ago. I bought it used about 10 years ago wearing rubber grips. I found the wood grips at a now defunct gun shop near Bordentown. I like wood on my stainless guns. I hope you enjoy it!

Harry's Army and Navy? Out on Route 206?
How did you get this so clean? lol
I agree, steel and wood.
I also bought a 4506-1 and a 15-3 at the same time. Were these yours too?

About 6 months ago I posted a question as to why my revolver sticks when pulling back the hammer when it is pointed straight up.

Why can't I shoot at UFO's with my 10-8?

Low and behold I was experiencing the same problem with this Model 60. But I figured it out. Because the rounds are loose in the charge holes they get caught on the recoil shield.

I guess I'll have to stick to phasers and photon torpedoes when it comes to shooting at UFO's

Sportmans Center or something or other. I bought it in great shape. As for polishing, I use Mothers Magwell paste and lightly rub with an old t-shirt.

The 4506 and the 15 were not mine. That 15 did tempt me.

Harry's then Sportsman's Center then Cheyenne Mountain Outfitters.
I shot it today. Dead on at 7 yards. Quite a fireball with factory 158 grain RNL loads and Hornady 110 grain STX.

Hogue Bantams

I finally found a pair of stocks that feel "just right" on this revolver. They are Hogue Bantams and they just slip on over the frame. They are very comfortable and feel solid. They are also very small and conceal well (around the house lol)

Nice M60, bought a new one around a year ago, shot 3 357 mag rounds, that was enough for me, tried some 38 sp. wadcutters at the range, they work nice for that small gun, had my gun shop sell that one, I liked my 637 better to carry IWB, 16 oz., M60 around 25 oz, I place a speed strip in my front pocket, I tried 5 types of grips, I like the small rubber type factory grips to carry in the right or left front under my belt, the ones in your last pictures is just like it, just a couple things you might try..
