new (to me) Model 67

Wonderful gun. Box and all. You are fortunate. I have the same gun, a Model 67, no dashes. Over 18,000 rounds through it. Basically retired, but I still use it for re-qualification for my CCW. It's the gun I shoot best.

My standard caveat: The lug holding the cylinder latch and the tiny screw securing the rear sight assembly to the top strap may loosen when shooting. Be attentive to this. Re-tightening them by hand every range session grows old fast. I had a gunsmith secure them. Other folks recommend some form of Loc-Tite. Nail polish will NOT work.

I have encountered this issue on other stainless Smiths of this era, including a 60 and 64. Also a later 640, the cylinder latch lug on these last 3. YMMV. Hope this helps!

Wow! That is one beautiful pistol. It looks like someone bought it new in 1972, shot it to make sure it worked, and carefully stored it for the next forty years. I bought a M67 with Stainless sights last October but with honest wear & no box or accessories. It's an excellent shooter and great fun at the range. Hope you enjoy your's as much as I do mine!

What a beautiful masterpiece!

What a great find. To shoot or not to shoot, that is the questions, I recently had a 67-1 follow me home. It has turned into one of my favorites, I was shooting it a few hours ago.
Enjoy your new smith.

Nice Model 67 package...two things caught my attention,
First is the 1973 Model 67 parts schematic is of a Model 15 (snub barrel shown as option).
Second is the cost of a factory refinish $14.30, A quick inflation calculator check reveals that in 2014 dollars thats a whopping $76.06,
S&W is charging over $200 for that same refinish today.
