I recently acquired this S&W 19-7 K comp. It is in really Great condition. Terrific gun but hard to beat the 586-4 3" I posted earlier this week. I also included pictures with the gun wearing Karl Nills and Culina grips that have been looking for a new home for a while and a picture with my model 66-3 F Comp.

Does your serial number start with "KCP" or "SDA?" From what I've read the KCP are Lew Horton guns (possible 90 produced) and the others were stocking dealer guns.

Mine is KCP 0058. It did not come with a box and I expect the grips are not original.

Nice! I've only seen a few of the model 19s for sale, would like to snag one someday

Congrats on the find! Very nice set of K and F Comps you have there!

I'm lucky own a set of these myself. They are my favorite K frames, not counting the Super K, which I don't own.

Nice pick up there. The K-Comps are pretty good shooters. Also those Nill grips look much better on it:)

Bill,

The first run of K-Comps there was 1000 made serial prefix SDA. I am not 100 percent certain, but seem to recall 2 runs of the SDA prefix, with maybe close to 1500 total. The KCP prefix was 150 or 300 I beleive and the 90 or so you are thinking off is for the factory bobbed/magna ported 19 k-comp which I think was 55 or so made.

Thanks. I got the 90 number from an old thread here on the forum.

Do you know what grips the Lew Horton guns would have shipped with?

Thanks,

Bill

Beautiful guns...

Had the chance to buy one about 10 years ago for a decent priced and passed...went back to the shop a few days later and it was gone...

Do have a 66-2 3" which will have to make do...

there is one for sale on GB right now. I had #188 bought new in 1994. It might be the only one in CA right now. Sold for a song. I don't recall the prefix. IIRC it was blued stainless, which I don't see mentioned much . . . .
