New to me Victory (pics)

Well, I bought my first gun through our Classifieds section here on the Forums...here is the result. A pretty decent Victory in .38 Special. The serial number is: V 244379

The surprise was opening the box and seeing it was marked "U.S. Navy"!

The serial numbers all match accept for the grips...but they look to be correct. Only one detail to try to "correct" sometime, it has a blued cylinder release button that does not match the gun's finish. I imagine that with all the thousands of Victory guns I'll be able to find a correct button somewhere.

The gun appears to have been shot very little (hardly at all IMHO). The bore is excellent.

A nice example with "honest wear" such as a bit of "sweat-rust" on the back-strap.

I'm very happy to add this one into my accumulation. It's fun to grab a piece of history and feel "safe" taking it to the range!

The gun was just lathered up with Break-Free prior to taking the pictures so it looks a bit "shiny"/blue in spots.

Very nice snag. I'd get that one lettered myself.

Is it just the photography, or is the finish on this gun a polished blue ?
The flutes of the cylinder, and the rear sight trough, appear that way.

Thank you. I may just do that. I have several now that could "use" a letter.

Yes, it's the photography. I had just thrown on a nice coat of Break-Free and the gun appears to be blue in some areas. It's not been re-finished and has the normal finish and "rough" areas I've seen on other Victory and pre-V numbered Victory guns.

Any suggestions as to where I might pick up a correct cylinder release button for this gun?
