New to the 15-22

Hi all,

Picked up a 15-22 a few weeks ago. I frequent the semi-auto forum, now I'm happy to stop in over here too. This is the first place I went for some info - looks like a great group of forum members over here, lots of valuable posts.

My intent is to use it for just fun plinking, occasional varmit control.

Picked up 2 extra 25 round mags from Midway last week, $15.99. Also picked up a Voodoo Tactical single point sling, a cheap Osprey bipod/foregrip, and a Winchester digital camo case. All lower end accessories, which is kind of the point for me, have fun on the cheap.

So far I have about 400 rounds of Federal High Velocity through it with one FTF. So no real issues. Can't wait to shoot some more!

It sounds like you are well on your way to the general 15-22 illness found on this sub forum.

Please be carefully, your check book and / or credit cards may become ill also. The main part of this illness is the unforgiving,retched inability to stop looking for mods and bolt on toys for the fine weapon.

As an example, I can not go by a rack of .22lr ammo in a store without checking stock and prices and reporting them here.

Be aware of "Search Syndrome", this manifests itself by having you searching every nook and cranny on the net for anything to do with the 15-22. Often, you will find yourself asleep at the computer at sunrise with your S/O bitching at you that you've been up all night again, feeding the monster.

Please...don't use restraint, find, buy and report back here, so others may treat their illness.

PS. You will want at least three more mags, start thinking about MidwayUSA's deal again, before the sale ends!!!!I have fed that particular momster and now have six. It is like the AR mag craze, I have 100 of those, all filled with ammo!!! God help me!!!!

I think i'm infected already. I caught myself sending text pics of the 15-22 to everyone on my contacts list earlier.

I will heed your advice, back to Midway I shall go! I knew I should have ordered 4 or 6 mags the first time....dang.
