Good day,
I just acquired a S&W 10-5 in .38SPL. Thas original box, papers cleaning rod with brush in the original plastic bag, never used. The original purchaser bought it in May1971, filled out the warranty card but never mailed it. The parts order list is dated 1967. The box and papers have very little if any damage. The usual aging of paper, all creases are sharp. The pistol has no wear, all edges are sharp. 98% to 99% original finish. Two small light rust spots on the cylinder more than likely from contact with the paper or what was a fingerprint. Basically it was bought, and it stayed in its box. Practically store bought new. I will be looking at threads regarding collectability. From what I have found online so far is that there are many out there. And even in this good of shape are just what I paid for it $450. Some for $625. And I've seen several on auction and sale $500-$800 well used. I'm looking forward to shooting this pistol. But being a closet queen and never shot after it left the factory I'll be looking for suggestions for anything I may need to do and or not do before shooting it. Looking forward to reading the threads. Have a great day
