I just recently purchased a s&w shield in .40 s&w. Just wanted to say hi and ask a couple questions. I searched and could not find where to get an extended safety for my shield and also I'm shooting low left. I understand a heavier trigger can cause this and I've practiced pulling straight back on the trigger but to no avail. Any opinions will be appreciated.

Welcome. The "low left" problem has been discussed repeatedly in this forum. Just do a search. Suggest you fire it with your weak hand to see if it still shoots low left. Can't help you with the safety, sorry.

Welcome from Wisconsin! It looks like your question has been answered. If any changes in your grip & trigger control doesn't work for you you might have to move your sight slightly to the left.

Welcome to the forum. As you've already seen, the members here have a lot to share and a willingness to help. My suggestion is to do a lot of dry fire. Concentrate on maintaining a proper sight picture both before, during and after the trigger pull .

Thanks for the replies and I think I had too much of a death grip on it that's why I was shooting low left I loosened my grip a touch and I seem to be getting better results, again thanks for the help and the warm welcome.

I got my FS40 in Dec. and was going to do all the changes you read about on here and then I kept seeing to go to the range and practice....I did practice and here is my last trip...1st mag. full at 21 ft....not going to change anything...

I do that. I man handle my gun. If I just relax a tad my shots improve. I am not advocating limp wristing.. To the best of my knowledge I don't limp wrist. I have had my husband watch me shoot and he says I don't limp wrist. I just have a death grip on the stupid gun. I think it has to do with my Steyr in 40S&W. Too much snap for me. That is why it is gone.
