New tome Model 19

Just picked up a Model 19-3 at a local gun show. It shows some holster wear and a few rough marks around the cylinder and trigger guard, but I think it will be a good shooter.
Serial number is 46Kxxxx, anyone have a date for this gun?

The Catalog says 1978 or 1979.

looks like you got a final pinned and recessed model 19 right there. A piece of history For cost reasons they stopped pinning them around 79 - 80 you got a score there.

Nice 3" er but are you certain about the dash 5 revision ?
Pinned barrel/recessed cylinder R side TM points to a 19-4 or older.

You could be right, why I got 19-5 in my head I don't know...now I want to check it to be sure, but I like looking at it anyway. 19-3 most likely, yes, it is P&R. Get back to you, hopefully with a pic.

You are correct, it's a 19-3 model! Thanks for alerting me to that. Getting a little foggy up there. The pics of the model # did not come out clear enough for me to post them.

Here's my 19-3 2.5" Nickel. When I think of a 'snub', this is what I see in my mind.

The K-frames are beguiling indeed. And the 4" Model 19 particularly so.

They just fit the hands of so many of us. Certainly they fit me and my needs.
