I was given a box of new type, Berry 9mm bullets to play with.

They are sort of new and not much data or results have been posted, on them.

Most post state that the loader does better if they are not pushed to hard.
Gel test show that too slow and too fast, also don't work out too well
with this bullets design.

Berry calls for a OAL of 1.09"
but if it needs lower fps from 1050 - 1150fps
I will also toss in a few loads at a longer 1.12"
to see if the accuracy, might improve?

Here is a picture of the new kid on the block
with a few test and data, later on, when I can get out.

This is designed as a "self defense" bullet with anticipated expansion at a certion fps range.

I don't think it is very new bullet design, though: I bought a bunch of 124gr at Midway because they were once less expensive than plated 115gr RNs...?

They don't want you to compress the tip as far getting as expected expansion is concerned, so case preparation and seating are somewhat critical.

Cheers!

P.S. I just use my standard 4.6gr Bullseye load as a starting point.

Rainier Bullets used to have plated hollow point bullets too, but they stated that the hollow point was for accuracy, not expansion. Berry's claims expansion and penetration of 11 to 13 inches. I'm interested to see if Berry's will really expand similar to that of premium self-defense loads.

Edit: I Googled and it seems that these hollow points expand nicely in bare gel, but tend to not expand if they pass through denim before entering the gel. :(

Yes, I went to the trouble of using color text for the edit. :D
