hey i'm new here as well as a near future handgun owner. i figured this would be a good place for some information and guidance. at the time i have no real firearms and my experience/knowledge is very limited. the only smith and wesson i've ever shot was about 4 rounds from a .44 Magnum. that being said, i've done a ridiculous amount of research in the past couple months but still have a ton to learn. i plan to own a Sigma sw9ve or sw40ve within the next week or so. my plans for it will be practice and recreational use.

Welcome from Texas jordan90. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Good starter pistol. I am partial to the .40 caliber but you will find just as many supporters of the 9 mm.

Good luck and be safe.

Thanks for the welcome! After some research it seems that the 9mm would be right at this moment. I have been going back and forth on which one i will get but i figured for a starter gun that the 9mm would be a good choice. that way i can gauge the differences in recoil, feel, and accuracy with different calibers. i plan to own several guns in the future but im leaning more towards the sigma 9mm right now for my first one mainly due to price. i don't want to spend $1000+ on a gun that i'm gonna be learning on.
