I have a S&W 10-5 RB and a Tyler T-grip 3 and am wondering the correct way to install it? Do you just take off the stock wood grips and spread the t-grip metal clip over the frame and reinstall wood grips while holding the t grip up in position. It's on the revolver now but has a gap on the pinky finger end. Thanks, rj

You may need a 3R for the round butt, I think the 3 is for a square butt, you can check their web site to make sure, but yes just loosen the grips and slide the T grip in position and tighten the grips.

3R is for the round butt.
I completely remove the grips and and wrap the copper metal clip around the frontstrap, then I reinstall the grips. I know some people do as gunnut44, but I always felt it was more secure to have the T-grip not completely dependant on the grip for attatchement.

For S&W guns, unlike the J (#1s) and N (#4s), for the K and L frames one has to have the correct grip. If the # on the inside of the grip is a "3" and not a "3R" then you will have to get another for it to fit correctly. J and N frame guns take the same T for both round and square butt.

Yup ,theres just a "T3" inside the T-grip. Guess I bought the wrong one. I think it's an old one as it has written on the outside "Tyler's -GRIP OKL A CITY 14". wonder if 14 was the zip code back then? rj
