Hello to everyone!

I am a new handgun owner from Boca Raton. Purchased a beautiful new Sig P226 Platinum Elite in 40 cal a few weeks ago.

Had a good bit of exposure to weapons in the military - served in the Army from 94-97 - but that was primarily rifle, as until a few weeks ago I had never fired a handgun ever. My experience was limited to my M16 with M203 grenade launcher, M60 (very fun to fire), hand grenades, claymore mines and the unbelievable AT4 (modern day bazooka).

My wife and I went to a local range on my b-day 1 month ago and started shooting some of their rental weapons. Shot a couple of 9mm composites and a 45 acp 1911. Did a bunch of research and decided a SIG was a good first choice for me. Looked up the P226 and found a great deal locally on the one I bought.

So my wife and I have been shooting a bunch lately at the local ranges. My wife loves my 226 but wants her own gun also and we have been shooting a lot of 9mm.

We have recently shot - SIG P229, CZ 9mm, Beretta Px4, S&W M&P9

We both liked the M&P9 so we are here to do more research and see what the verdict is on that weapon.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the S&W Forum from beemerrider in Oregon. I think you need some more cars. Enjoy the Forum; lots of friendly and experienced S&W owners. I have several Sigs and they make great guns. Take a look at TJ's gunsmithing website http://www.tjscustomgunworks.com/. I had him work on my 220, 228 and 229; incredible.

Enjoy the Forum; contribute where you can and make the Forum a better place for you participating.

People here are friendly and willing to help out with questions.
