Just finished up a 617 for shooting steel. Thought you shooters might like to check it out. What is surprising is there is NO RECOIL. After removing the 6" barrel, I thought there might be some movement but ---NONE.
I'm taking it to the Steel Nationals in Titusville in March to give it a good workout.
Hope to see you there.
Keep Shootin'

That is a very nice looking revolver. Who did the work? Is the barrel steel or a steel lined aluminum with a steel liner?

I modified the 617 for one of my shooters. The barrel is a Tatctical Solutions 10-22 rifle barrel, cut to length and threaded to fit the frame. I'm not sure but I think the original barrel weighs as much as the gun does now. The weight reduction really speeds up transitions between targets.
Thanks for posting.
