After waiting the mandatory 10 days in the PDRK [People's Democratic Republic of Kali-fornia] I picked my new [to me] S&W Model 17-4; this is a "floating K" serial number gun that puts it around 1983.

The revolver is in +/- 95% condition, and is only the second K frame .22 that I have seen at my local gun emporium, the Old West Gun Room, El Cerrito, CA, in a three to four year period.

I think I got a fair deal on the price, but this being CA, the price for this desirable piece was most likely higher then most other states.

The only shame is that I am going to have to work this weekend, instead of heading out to the range...

Congratulations on the great looking 17-4 and yes 22LR S&W revolvers are hard to find these days. You will love shooting this for sure.

Great find I love 17's well 18's,34's'63's,35's,45's oh my I love them all:)

Understood... lol. In terms of S&Ws, I seem to be working my way through the "teens"; I started with a model 19, then acquired a 15 and now a 17.

I do also have a 29... so now I need a 27, right? S&W "wheel guns" are an addition, and this forum is NOT a 12 step program... not even close.

Thanks for the kind comments, guys.
