Newly obtained 66-1 snub

I bought a 2 1/2" 66-1 in 1978 and still have it. It's had a lot of rounds through it over the decades. I still have the original stocks but I prefer these. I keep it loaded with 180 grain Black Talons

Shown with a 686 TALO for comparison.

I think this thread should have started out in the P&R section.

OP that's a great gun and a great price today.
My 66-1 belonged to a friend who asked me to help put it back together. Why was it apart? It was dirty so he took it apart and ran it through the dishwasher !!! Rear sight was now rusted. I put it back together telling him he didn't deserve to own it. It took a year but I guilted him into selling to me.
I had gunsmith buddy fix up to mimic factory "combat revolver package". Trigger job/ bead blast / polished hammer & trigger etc. I've had multiple grips on it over the years. Currently has Elk Stag from Forums BigMtnMan. Kramer MSP paddle holster and Galco Fletch are great EDC holsters.
Took care of the guilt for having to sell a 2.5 inch model 19 to make a mortgage payment when I was a poor young cop n
1st pic is before spa treatment.

1st pic is before.

That looks pretty good for having gone through a dish washer. I don't think Jerry K's book covered that method.

Cool gun. I have a 66-1. 92k…. Serial number. Box, papers. Etc. one of my favorite snubbies.
