O.k it seems there is a lot of confusion over which mags are new ( 2nd gen ) or old (1 st gen ) If you got one of the early model ar15-22's please post what your mag says 22lr or 22lr w/ 25 rd written underneath 22lr. I'm talking about the 25 rd mag only. If you bought one jan feb 2010 please post what your mag says on it. Rip 3000 says that the mag w/ the 22lr and 25 rd mag are the 2nd gen. Let's figure this out and end it. ;):D

Don't be bummed yet- we still don't have any answers. Those mags you have might be the new ones. We need a lot of posts before we can narrow this down.;)
 
I just got 3 more, none say 25 round.

Got my 15-22 back in july or maybe aug. original mag also does NOT say 25 round.

I have seven total, from S&W directly as well as 44mag. NONE say 25 rnd.

ALL work perfecly.:D
 
My DTM*** rifle was purchased in early Jan. 2010. I have a 25 rd. mag. that is marked 22lr.(only). I think the 22lr/25 rd. marked mags are the newer mags. and are only being given to people who have returned their rifles fo repair. I cannot find any 22lr/25rd. marked mags for purchase. I want to try a different/newer mag because I occasionly have ftfeed that results in a round that stands up vertically and is smashed by the bolt. Does anyone know where to get the new mags or if they're really a different design? From rip3000gt's pic. i think there has been a slight design change.
 
The magazine that came with my DTM, purchased this week is marked "22lr".
 
Got mine back from repair mid Jan. with a "new" mag .22lr/25 round. Also received 2 10 round mags yesterday .22lr/10 round (blue follower/ no load assist) for the repair.
 
My rifle came back from S&W today w/ mags that have both ".22LR" and "25 round".

They are not the ones that I sent in but I don't know what the "old" ones had

I think they added the 25rnd to the mag after the 10 rnd came out.

This may help some people tell the mags apart.
 
got my DTH* after xmas and the mag was marked .22lr only.

ordered 4 more mags (two from 44mag.com and 2 from S&W) in mid january and all are marked 22lr only.

i think the mags marked .22lr only are the 1st gen mags.
 
I think the magazine housing (the black part) looked a little different right under the follower. Seems like the round sits at a slightly different angle also. Very slight, but noticable (to me). I'm far from an expert, though.
 
I just got my 15-22 today... (Whohoo!) The gun left S&W in January, and the mag just has the 22LR on it. I have ordered 2 spare mags direct from Smith that finally shipped today. I'll let you know what the mags say when they arrive.
 
Bought my DTMxxxx right before Christmas, bought 3 extra mags from S&W and bought 3 from Botach, ALL 7 mags marked 22l/r only no problems at all with any of them.

Bought my 15-22 in Dec 09, mag says "22lr". Bought 2 extra mags from S&W in about 2 weeks ago and the are also labeled "22lr" only.
