If a semi automatic rifle can be banned because it's furniture is make of plastic instead of wood, then a bolt action hunting rifle with a Leopold scope can be banned because it's identical in shape to a military sniper weapon. All semi automatic hand guns can be banned because they look an awful lot like the Beretta the military uses.

A ban on modern sporting rifles is only the first step. If that's successful, you can bet that the gun banners will be back for the next item on their list.

Your fine S&W revolvers might be last on the list, but they are on the list.

I was at Cabelas today and bought a Glock 19. The gun came from the factory with 3 15rd magazines. The "gun library" (it curdles my milk to say "gun library") had about 10 6906's from some LE group I guess. If not for the Glock I would have bought one of those "($349). There were tables stacked high with 9mm ammo. .40 CAL not so much, and they were clean out of a lot of handgun ammo.

Yes, huntng calibers will pierce ballistic vest - a vest designed for handgun calibers level III and below. A Level IV, usually with steel or ceramic places, will stop up to a .308.

The other objects most will not stop are knife blades and arrows. You can get a "stab proof" vest that uses more material in level I through IV.

If what penetrates a vest is the standard for what should be outlawed, then knves, archery gear and other sharp objects would be banned.

When all of the facts are on the table, this is not about reducing violence. Study after study has shown that the measures being proposed today have not reduced violent gun deaths in the past. In fact, death rates have increased in areas implementing some or all of the proposed measures. Yes, Britain can claim their gun death rate is low. But when they effectively banned firearms, their violent crime rate skyrocketed.

The agenda here is to disarm the US population. A an armed population is too much of a threat to those with designs on eviscerating our Constitution and freedoms. They don't want the people out there to have the ability to fight back.

In other words, this is not about gun control - it is about control. When yu look at the rest of the world, we here in the US are the "Alamo" of freedom. Unfortunately, we find that the oppponents of freedom are no longer confined to the outside of the walls.

shot at 25, then 75, then 100yds

between gusts it would shoot nickle size groups at 100yds
