best college player in the U.S. even though ND went 2-8 the year he won.

Yep, sure wish life wasn't so short....back when they were playing life was so different.....the main players came to our small school 40 miles west of Green bay for a scrimmage with our high school players.....Paul was there and very cordial.....and can you imagine shaking hands with a hero(in my eyes)at 10 years old?

I was in Don Chandler's bar in Sheboygan back in the 70's and was told
that Paul Hornung had been in a couple nights before. Wish I had met
him. The locals were amazed that I knew Chandler lived in Catoosa, Ok.

He played when the NFL was the king of sports. Always loved the Packers. He played the chief logger in the bar fight scene in "The Devils Brigade". RIP
